From October 31 to November 2, 2024, the Millennium Hall in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, is said to host a significant event:
The 13th Ethio Poultry Expo (ETHIOPEX), the 9th Africa Livestock Exhibition and Congress (ALEC), the 4th Apiculture and Aquaculture Ethiopia Trade Show, and the newly launched Bio-Energy Trade Show. Organized by Prana Events in collaboration with the Sudanese Expo Team for Service Co., Ltd, the expo aims to showcase the latest technologies and solutions in the animal husbandry sector.
Over 100 exhibitors from 14 countries, including China, France, Germany, India, and the United States, will engage with more than 5,000 trade and professional visitors. The Netherlands pavilion will participate for the third consecutive year, underscoring the event’s international significance. This year’s congress theme, “Livestock: Now and the Future; Current Opportunities, Challenges, and the Way Forward,” will cover key topics such as poultry, dairy, veterinary medicine, and nutrition.
Nebeyu Lemma, Managing Director of Prana Events, highlighted the expo’s potential for market linkage and investment opportunities. He announced a B2B online platform and affordable startup packages. Mr.s Tsigereda Fikadu from the Ministry of Agriculture noted the government’s support for initiatives that enhance livestock development.
Supported by various organizations, including Ethiopia's Ministry of Agriculture, the Ethiopian Livestock Development Institute, the Ethiopian Agriculture Authority, SNV Ethiopia - Netherlands Development Organization, the International Centre of Insect Physiology and Ecology (ICIPE), the Netherlands Embassy, and the Pan-African Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PACCI), this event aims to foster market linkages, promote investment, and facilitate knowledge sharing, ultimately contributing to the growth of Africa's livestock sector.
